The Fault in Our Stars is a book written by John Green. This book has many themes like love for the ways that Hazel and Augustus treat one another. There is courage for the way that these teenagers battle cancer and are brave while doing it. Also, another theme is family for the way that Hazel and Augustus’s parents love them, support them, and comfort them with every decision that they make. The main characters in this book are Hazel Grace Lancaster, the narrator of the book who has cancer and knows that she is not the typical teenage girl and accepts it. Then there is Augustus Waters, the boy that Hazel Grace falls in love with. Augustus Waters was an amazing basketball player until he was diagnosed with cancer and had to amputate his leg. Augustus doesn’t want to die unless that he knows that he has changed lives, that he was a legend. Another main character in this book is Peter Van Houten, the man who wrote the book that Augustus and Hazel could not stop reading, An Imperial Affliction. They loved the book so much that Augustus spent his cancer wish, a wish that kids with cancer made to do what they wished to do, to go to Amsterdam with Hazel and meet Peter Van Houten. The next main character is Augustus’s best friend, Isaac. Isaac is the whole reason that Augustus and Hazel met, Isaac dragged Augustus to support group with him, and at support group, Hazel and Augustus could not take their eyes off of each other. William Shakespeare s Macbeth - A Man Without Ethics Is A...

Albert Camus, a highly regarded scholar, once spoke â€Å"A man without ethics is a wild beast loosed upon this world.† It can be speculated that what Camus was insinuating, is that in the absence of morality, one descends into corruption that impacts not just the individual, but also those who surround them. Hundred of years earlier, William Shakespeare illustrated the same concept in his renowned work, Macbeth. In this play, Shakespeare primarily uses the characters of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and Banquo to warn of the dangers of a loss of morality. Closer to Camus s time, the 1998 film A Simple Plan uses strikingly similar techniques to exhibit the same concept. It too, uses its main characters- Hank, Sarah, and Jacob- to warn of this ambition-fuelled corruption of morality. Through juxtaposing the significant actions the main characters of each work make, it is clearly evident that these two works bear more in common than an over-arching theme. Therefore it can be said that the characters of Macbeth and Hank, Lady Macbeth and Sarah, and Banquo and Jacob perfectly illustrate the commonalities between these two bodies of work. Macbeth and A Simple Plan have many story elements in common, with the strongest of these centering around the main characters of each work. Answer: Introduction: An organization is a citizen of the society which has come into existence through the operation of law. It is a separate legal person, although artificial which has been created by law and has an identity distinguished from its owners. It has been argued by (Schwartz, 2017) that all organizations being the citizens of the society has a responsibility to act in the best interest of the society in the same way as any other natural person. This is because it has a duty of care towards the society as the society can be directly injured by the actions of the organization. Large organization operates at an extensive scale through the use of the resources provided by the society. It is their duty to ensure that they provide adequate return for using such resources to the society by taking care of its needs. Thus a part of the profit earned by the organization should be directed towards the betterment of the society. The organizations must ensure that they work ethically so that those associ ated with the organization will also incorporate ethical values into their behavior which would directly ensure the dominance of ethics in the society as most of its citizens are associated with the organization. On the other hand an argument has been provided against the approach of CSR by Milton Friedman in his book Capitalism and Freedom. According to the arguments provided by Friedman the approach of CSR should not be adopted by an organization in relation to its activities. This is because the organizations only have a responsibility towards the shareholders who have made investment in it. It is the responsibility of the organization to provide adequate profits to the people who had made investment in it. Moreover as per Friedman it is the responsibility of those shareholders who are associated with the organization to be responsible towards the society in which they reside(Tai Chuang, 2014). (Carroll, 2015) defines Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR is as a self imposed corporate regulation which has been added to business models of organizations. The principles provided by CSR operate as a self-regulatory mechanism through which an organization keeps a look upon and ensures compliance of law, national and international norms and ethical standards actively. A few models provides that the CSR of an organization should not be merely restricted to statutory and compliance requirements but also to actions which are for the social good of the society and more than the interests of the organization. The choice of going beyond the statutory and compliance requirements is upon the organization, however where the organization is involved in some kind of nuisance such as an issue related to the environment it is the duty of the organization to ensure that they indulge in social good for the society to compensate for their actions. Thus the approach if CSR is applicable on all businesses which operate in the society and specifically those whose actions considerably impact the society. The approach of CSR can be further divided into two perspectives which are narrow view and a broad view. The narrow view of CSR argues against the principles of organization displaying CSR. It provides that the primary objective of the organization is only to maximize their profit. On the other hand the broad view of CSR provides that the organization does not only have the responsibility of maximizing profit but also towards the community and society where they continue their operations in relation to compensating any potential negative impact of their activity. It has been argued by (Poussenkova, et al., 2016) that the supporters in relation to the narrow view of CSR have declined considerably in the recent years as the focus on CSR related issues have considerably increased which are attracting the interest of various stakeholders(Clapp Rowlands, 2014). It has been provided through the documentary Blood, Sweat and T-shirts that the workers in the Indian textile industry have been subjected to significantly detrimental working environment. The demand for cloths in the light of changing fashion has enhanced considerably and due to the competition in the UK clothing industry the suppliers are under pressure to get the cloths at the lowest possible price. It has been provided through the documentary that six young fashion lovers were shocked to discover the state of the workers who are employed in Indian cloth factories and backstreet workshops from which cloths are manufactured for British stores. The workers in the factors are forced to work in soaring temperatures and a very dirty environment. This form of working environment causes significant heath issues for the workers who do not have adequate resources to address the issue. They are provided with significantly low wages through which they are not even able to purchase the basic requirements of survival. The average wages which are provided to the workers in only 1.50 to 1.75 per day with such amounts they only can purchase food for themselves and their families. In the given situation it can be stated that English clothing retailers have significant social responsibility towards the workers as their operations are directly affecting the workers. They at least must have the responsibility that the factories from which their products are sourced have a healthy and safe working environment which is in compliance with the legal requirements. It is clear from the given situation that as the retailers are not taking care of the issue faced by the workers they are taking a narrow view of CSR. This is because they are only indulging in the process of profit maximization and no taking any responsibility towards the impact which their activities have in the society(Shaw, Barry, Issa, Catley, Muntean, 2016). An argument has been provided that in case factories are boycotted, the circumstances in which the factory workers are will become worse. This argument is provided in the basis that if the retailers in England boycott the factories the workers would lose their source of income. It has been depicted through the documentary that the workers are forced by their needs to work in such a degrading environment as they do not have any other source of income. They have to earn in order to survive and purchase the basic necessities of life. In the given situation it has been seen that child labor is also predominant in the industry. This further signifies that the workers do not earn enough to able to support their families or afford education for their children. If the factories are boycotted and they are not provided with any further work the little which is earned by the workers in the factories would end and their problems would worsen. They would not even be able to pay for food and shelt er which they can at least pay for presently. On the other hand if the status quo is maintained which has been for a long period there is no chance that the conditions of the workers are going to improve. They would still be subjected to poor working environment where their health would always be at stake. Their wages would not be increased in the light of inflation and their problems would eventually worsen. There would not be any enhancement in technology which is being used in the factories and the labors would have to sweat out the production of clothing. In the given situation both the status quo as well as boycotting the factories would not turn out to be an effective way of addressing the issue. What can be done in relation to the situation is that the retailers can increase the pressure on the factory owners for enhancing the situation of the workers. It is evident that the factory owners keep the majority of the income to themselves and ignore the workers. The retailers should ensure that they incorporate the strategy of rewards and recognition while dealing with the factory owners. If incentives are provided to the owners for maintaining a healthy work environment and it is ensured that regular inspection is made and proper recognition is done than there are significant possibilities that the condition of the workers will enhance. An ethical dilemma takes place when a person is not able to make a rational choice in relation to an ethical decision(Ferrell Fraedrich, 2015). In the given situation I have been provided with the task of sourcing cloths for sweatshops similar to those which have been observed in the Blood, Sweat and T-shirts documentary. This is an ethical dilemma to me because I have been subjected to two questions which are that whether to observe my duty as an employee and work according to the instructions of the manager or I should comply with my ethical responsibility and not source the clothing from the sweatshops. As an employee I have a fiduciary relationship with the manager and the organization as an employee and I have to work in the best interest of the organization. On the other hand as a responsible citizen of the society I also have the responsibility of ensuring that all individuals in the society have to be paid adequately for their work through which they can at least appropriately support them. If I sources the cloths from the described sweatshops than I would be working against my personal ethical principles towards the society as it would encourage the shop owners to continue their detrimental actions to the workers. On the other hand if I do not work according to the instructions of the manager I would not be complying with my duty as an employee. As a business professional I do not have any legal obligations towards the factory workers. This is because I do not have any direct control over them. However as a business professional I have ethical and moral obligation towards the workers. It is my moral duty to ensure that no injustice is done to them. It is also my legal duty not to get associated with any business which intentionally does not comply with regulatory requirements(Poussenkova, et al., 2016). I have the duty to ensure that the workers are paid adequately for their work through which they can at least appropriately support them. It is also my duty to ensure that I do not support mal practices like child labor and non compliance with health and safety requirements. Thus although it is not my legal duty to look after the workers, at least I have to morally ensure that I do not add to their problems. According to the theory provided by Immanuel Kant consequences should not be the basis on which ethical decisions should be taken. The theory is based in categorical imperative which means unconditional command. A person has an unconditional duty which is applicable to everyone without any exception(Kant, 2017). Thus in order to be an ethical decision based on Kants theory the decision has to comply with the following criteria Good will- This has been described as the process of acting from, or on, principle Universal acceptability- A rule that every rational being would accept Humanity as an end, never as merely a means to an end- not using other to achieve one goals(Broad, 2014). In the current situation analyzing the sweatshops based on the element of good will it can be stated that they are not at all relying on principles, for making a decision or deriving their actions from them as principles do not allow a person to be inadequately paid or be provided with worse than poor working conditions. No principles allows for child labor or disrespecting human rights and humans working for someone. In addition on the basis of the element of moral acceptability it can be stated that all persons on earth would not considered what is happening in the sweat shops as ethical and acceptable. This is because if everyone is exploited like it is done in the sweatshops the world would not be a safe place to reside in. Thus based on the second element the sweatshops are morally incorrect. Moreover here it is clear that the workers are being exploited by the owners and not being seen as an end themselves but as means of an end. Depression is a psychiatric disorder characterized by feelings of worthlessness, guilt, sadness, helplessness, and hopelessness. It is different then normal sadness or grief from the loss of a loved one because it is persistent and severe. Clinical depression has many related symptoms trouble sleeping, eating disorders, withdrawal and inactivity, self-punishment, and loss of pleasure. People that are depressed do not like to do things they may usually like to. Surveys that have been taken that show approximately 20 in 100 people suffer from depression at any one time. About one if four Americans will suffer from a depression over the course of their lifetime. Depression strikes men and women of all ages, in all races, but most studies indicate that women are more often afflicted. There are two major forms of depression that people get. One form is called depressive disorder. It is diagnosed only by episodes of depression. Episodes can be short or long but are usually brought about by an incident in a persons life. An example of this is if someone close to them dies. The other kind is called bipolar or manic depressive illness, it is recognized by alternating depressed and manic episodes. This is an actual brain dysfunction. In the major depression or the depressed phase of bipolar illness, a depressed mood predominates, even though the patient may not be aware of feeling sad. Typically, he or she loses all interest in activities. Symptoms include sleep disturbances, not able to concentrate or to make decisions, loss of appetite or greatly increased appetite, slowed thinking and decreased energy feelings of worthlessness, guilt, hopelessness, diminished sexual interest, and recurrent thoughts of suicide and death, sometimes leading a person to actually committing suicide. In the manic phase of bipolar disorder the patients behavior is bizarre and sometimes obnoxious. Symptoms of this are the person being hyper and have lots of energy, they talk a lot, racing thoughts, and a decreased need for sleep. In this stage it is very hard to recognize. Both depressive and bipolar disorders run in families. Meaning if your father or mother had it you have a high chance of getting it yourself. Most people who are depressed are women. They may be biologically induced depression. Meaning that there is a lack of or too much of a chemical or protein. Or it may be that women learn social roles that favor feelings of helplessness. Because women in trouble are more likely to seek professional assistance than men, statistics report that more people who are depressed are mostly women. The depressive disorders are among the most treatable in psychiatry. The usual treatment in modern practice involves administration of a drug plus supportive psychotherapy. Basically going to a psychiatrist and talking to them. The two major drugs that are used to treat depressive disorders are tricyclic/tetracyclic antidepressants and the monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors. The last one requires the patient to follow a special diet because the drugs react to tryamine. Tryamine is found in cheeses, beer, wine, chicken livers, and other foods, and causes higher blood pressure. The tricyclic antidepressants require no special diet. Lithium carbonate is a common mineral that is used to control the manic phase of manic-depressive illness. In small doses it is also used to regulate the mood fluctuations of this bipolar disorder. I also found a little amount on something called electroconvulsive therapy, or ECT, is considered most effective for depressions that do not respond to drug therapy. ECT is not widely used and is very controversial. It brings rapid relief from severe depression and can often prevent suicide. But it did not tell me how it works.

The compression of vapor to be used in the desalination process links them together. Compression of vapor increases both temperature and pressure of the vapor. The latent heat generated at this stage can be used to generate more power and additional vapor. There are two methods that can apply the effect of compressed water. The first one, thermo compression, utilizes an ejector system, motivated by the steam found at the monomeric pressure obtained from an external source. This aims at recycling vapor from the desalination process. The second method involves compressing the water v apor with the use of a mechanical device. The mechanical vapor compression, MVC, in which the evaporation effect takes place at the manometer, is used to recycle water (Wang et al., 2008). The compression turbine facilitates the mechanical compression. The generated vapor gets directed back towards the heat exchanger condenser to turn the vapor into water. In the process, the resultant fresh water is transferred to a storage area while the heat removed in the condensation process gets transmitted back in the remaining feedback. The vapor compression units are applied in the desalination processes. Fig1. Desalination process As indicated in fig. 1 above, heat is introduced at the top of the loop by the cooling device. The heat vaporizes the liquid refrigerant found in the evaporation plate. The vapor is carried through to the compressor to sanction tube. Energy is supplied in order to warm vapor to obtain hot vapor with high pressure to be passed to the condenser. The boiling high-pr essure vapor discharges heat to the air stream on the other side of the condenser fins as it cools and condenses into warm liquid. The Warm liquid is then pumped from the bottommost of the condenser through an expansion device where temperature and pressure drop meaningfully, forming the refrigeration effect. The cycle completes as the cold fluid passes to the cold plate. Maslow hierarchy of needs is indeed imperative in that it illuminates the most important and the least important needs of human beings. Through this theory, we are able to identify the most basic human needs. In addition, Maslows hierarchy of needs enables us to gain a succinct understanding of the theory of motivation. Most times, managers would first of all seek to meet the basic needs of their employees so that they can be able to motivate their employees to higher levels. Critics on the other hand suggest that human needs cannot be classified into hierarchies as Maslow did. Some may say there is nothing wrong with a little healthy competition, but what if one area is gaining the benefits slightly different than the others because of their boldness?American and European advertising are very different culturally as well as aesthetically. There has always been a cultural difference in the style of advertising between America and Europe, whether it is sexual content, trend or originality. A striking boldness seems to be a trending approach in Europe, while classic reason takes a hold of America. Researchers have said that one main difference between American and European advertisements is that European ads use emotional blackmailing while American ads reason for you.Both European and American advertising benefit in marketing, it is simply just a matter of effectiveness based on the audience. When comparing the two cultures of advertisement, American versus European, it is safe to say that no one approach is better, just simply different. It is compared as emotion versus product. America is effective because of the number of brands that are produced and compared where Europe is more effective by staying loyal to their brands and elaborating on commercial advertising. Europe is well known for using sexual nudity to promote a product, simply because ‘sex sells’.Approaching advertising in a different light would be emotionally. In America, advertising can be described as hard selling. Hard selling is a campaign or advertisement that is direct, forceful and straight to the point. For example while watching an American seatbelt warning on Youtube, the commercial is simply based on the motto, â€Å"Click it or Ticket†, showing average people driving their cars and getting pulled over by officers and receiving a ticket and fine. The commercial is to the point and straight forward, showing almost no emotion.The approach that American marketing companies have used is effective by saying ‘If you don’t’ wear your seatbelt, then you will be forced by law to pay a fine’. Similarly compared to the American commercial is the European commercial’s motto, †Å"Heaven Can Wait†, is an emotional grasp on losing your life over not wearing your seatbelt. Although the two are trying to deliver the same idea, the European method seems to make a gentler or softer appeal to the viewer by incorporating emotion and reality into the grand scheme.The emotion, fear, is incorporated into this commercial and motivates the audience to action. We as viewers can see how both American and European advertising is very successful; it is hard not to view one as more effective. Another aspect of advertising that can differentiate the two cultures is the aesthetics of line and color. For instance, the simple crisp lines of the Nike logo, demonstrates an iconic swoosh and flat one dimensional color paired with the logo â€Å"Just do it,† that subconsciously stays in your mind and makes you feel like you can be an athlete yourself.This portrays a basic and simple, yet straight to the point kind of approach. In Europe you can see a trend of color blo cking and also an artist like logo. â€Å"The American advertisers use more words and headlines, when many European ones use more images and illustrations; they try to find images, which in the best way, without any words, will communicate ideas that stand behind them† (SYL). [In order to remain more competitive], business organizations have to make use of all its "resources" in order to maximize the usefulness of its "operations" (Scharaeder and Becton, n.d.). And labor, being the most essential part of expenditure of the business, must be utilized to the fullest by developing and adopting "compensation strategies such as incentive programs [in order to] align individual motivation and goals with the objectives of the organization (Scharaeder and Becton, n.d.). In the midst of a bed time conversation with the Chief, McMurphy gives him a packet of chewing gum, the Chief replies Thank you. The chief then goes on to state this again. This comment from the Chief can be taken in two separate ways; metaphorically the Chief has said thank you to McMurphy, but, on the other hand he has thanked McMurphy for the allowing him to open up and talk and realise that he is not, in fact, insane. As well as that, it also shows how all along McMurphys inclination about the Chief was right. During that night time conversation with McMurphy the Chief talks about how small he is, demonstrating how the combine has affected him. Youre lot bigger, toughern I am. McMurphy then replies, You stand a head tallern any man on the ward. There aint a man here you couldnt turn every way but loose, and thats a fact! The Chief then dismisses this comment No. Im way too little. I used to be big, but not no more. Youre twice the size of me. This repetitive negative, Not no more, illustrates how he feels negative towards himself too, and how broken a man he is due to his time spent in the combine. McMurphy realises that, with the size of the Chief, he could use him to lift the control panel which he hadnt been able to lift at the beginning of the novel. He begins to build up the chiefs morale by complementing him in a descriptive metaphor, giving an image of how life will change for the good, Oh man I tell you, youll have women trippin you and beatin you to the floor. He offers him a free place in his special body-buildin course, and as McMurphy walks down the hall to sign the Chief up for the fishing trip he pulls the covers off him and states Look there, Chief. Haw what did a tell ya? You growed a half foot already. This again is used by McMurphy to build Chief Bromdens self image. Due to the character building of McMurphy and the Chiefs ability to find the cause of his illness he grows into a new man, a man able to be rebellious and able to pull away from the tight grasp which the combine has upon him. This point of rebellion expresses the Chiefs refusal to mop the hall. They stuck a broom out for me to do their work up the hall, I turned around and walked back to the dorm, telling myself, the hell with that. This emphasises the change in Chief Bromdens character as he is now confident enough to refuse duties from the black boys. This alliteration in the description of the boys is used extensively throughout the novel, emphasisng there colour, in 1962 (when it was first published) there was a lot of racism, white people were far more superior, and also their age, showing how even boys are running the institute, telling the white men what to do. But the main change to the Chief is his ability to laugh. I could look down and see myself with the rest of the guys and watch them, us, swinging in laughter. This is an effective use of imagery, as this metaphor emphasises how the Chief has grown mentally stronger as a man, as earlier on in the novel he states, You cant really be strong until you can see the funny side to things. His mental strength is illustrated through his physical strength in the shower room. So I picked him off and threw him in the shower. He was full of tubes; he didnt weigh moren ten or fifteen pounds. Demonstrating how McMurphys plan of making the Chief grow back to his real size is working. The character of Chief Bromden develops even further as when he notices a fog being produced by the combine and refuses to, slip off and hide in it. No never again, as he knows, this time I had them beat, thus emphasising how he has nearly recovered from his sickness. Finally the Chiefs transformation is complete, when McMurphy comes back down to the ward after his lobotomy the chief kills him out of compassion and escapes by throwing the control panel at the screened window. After the lobotomy, McMurphy states that he cannot do things like he used to, hobbled like this, the metaphor highlights that the institute has now got total control over McMurphy, even though he is not literally hobbled, as in cannot walk properly, he cannot think for himself, is a vegetable, he is hobbled. However though, the path the Chief ventures out on after escaping from the hospital is the same as the ill fated dog took earlier on in the novel when chasing a goose as it met the oncoming headlights of a vehicle, thus emphasising the battle between animals and machinery and how machinery will always win. In conclusion Chief Bromdens character develops extensively through out the novel from being a fully fledged member of the chronics to conversing with McMurphy and even going on a fishing trip with the other patients. As the novel develops the Chief grows back to his original size, commits an empathy killing on McMurphy to save him from the life of a chronic and escapes from the grasp of the combine. However, the reader is left in a state of uncertainty at the end of the novel as they are unsure whether the story is being told by the Chief as a free man out with the hospital or if the combine have taken him back into their tight grasp and he is telling the story from recollection to another inmate. The favorable movement in the tea industry can be attributed to two major factors: a) consumers need for convenience and time-saving services; and b) the positive press given to tea. American lifestyle and work habits have made convenience a necessity. As employers demand for productivity from their employees, consumers are more pressed for time. In addition, the shaky economy has made Americans fear for their jobs; thus, any product that can fill the consumers need for convenience and speed are almost automatically embraced into the American lifestyle (Mintel 2005). For the last decade, the health benefits of tea have gained wide coverage in the media. Studies continue to show the beneficial properties of teas, with health benefits ranging from lower cholesterol levels to improve arterial health and decreasing chance of cancer. This positive press has definitely catapulted the demand for tea (Mintel 2005). Both the need for convenience and positive press on tea have spurred an increase in sales of tea products, specifically ready-to-drink (RTD) teas sold in single-serve containers (Mintel 2005). Recognizing this trend, various companies in the tea industry have come up with innovative products to take advantage of the booming market for ready-to-drink teas. Lipton tea, one of the global leaders in refreshment brands, launched new products to meet the growing the need for ready-to drink teas and introduced innovative product line to capture the health- conscious market. For over a century, Lipton has been dominating the world tea market with the companys tea-based drinks including leaf tea, infusions and ready-to-drink tea. Its success has been attributed to the firms strong focus on innovation and the expertise of its tea specialists- professionals in tea-growing, tasting, buying, blending and RD teams (Wikipedia 2007). One of the main driving forces for Liptons success is the companys source of tea. Lipton teas are sourced from various plantations in well-know tea-producing countries such as India, Indonesia, Kenya and Sri Lanka. It maintains specialized tasting rooms in seven regional located across the globe. Presently, Lipton has about 30 different tea blends (Wikipedia 2007). As Lipton is a part of the Unilever global consortium, the company ensures that its tea producing farms do not only yield high-quality product but also protect and improve the natural environment and livelihood of workers and local communities. Liptons plantations in East Africa have been working with third party estates to ensure compliance with Unilevers sustainable agriculture guidelines and the Ethical Tea Partnership criteria (Wikipedia 2007). As part of Lipton teas drive to capture the booming market for ready-to-drink teas, the Anglo-Dutch Unilever Company entered into a joint agreement with American PepsiCo in 2003. Through the joint venture agreement, PepsiCo distributes or markets Lipton tea products, specifically Lipton Ice Tea in more than 60 countries where PepsiCo has established its corporate presence (Wikipedia 2007). The 50-50 JV Pepsi Lipton International is the latest move in Unilevers Path to Growth strategy which has mostly involved the disposal of non-core businesses rather than support for existing brands (Unilever-PepsiCo 2003). In a press statement, Unilever announced that the joint agreement with PepsiCo has two main goals: to move the Lipton brand into new distribution channels and into new markets. While Unilever claims that Lipton is the leader in the 16-billion liter world market for ready-to- drink tea, its presence remains slim in a number of key markets; thus, the agreement with PepsiCo is expected to address such concern (Unilever-PepsiCo 2003). Unilever stated that the [50-50 JV Pepsi Lipton International] will target the white space markets where Lipton has no current presence and it is anticipated that significant business opportunities will come from the key high-potential markets where Pepsi is already strong (Unilever-PepsiCo 2003). PepsiCo is expected to build the sales of the Lipton ice tea in 60 countries including Brazil, Spain, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Albania, Romania, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi and the six Gulf States. The Pepsi Lipton International venture is a logical expansion of an earlier collaboration between the two companies. The Pepsi Lipton Tea Partnership was set up by the two companies some 10 years ago to expand sales in the North American market, and is now firmly established as the leading RTD tea player in both the United States and Canada. With the aim of achieving a similar level of market dominance in the rest of the world, the latest joint venture will aim to leverage the strengths of both parents. It will principally sell ready-to-drink tea concentrate to franchise bottlers for distribution by Pepsi. As the worlds largest tea producer, Unilever will bring the brand, knowledge of the tea industry and a substantial research and development capability to the JV; Pepsi will contribute access to its extensive bottling and distribution network with strong customer relations (Unilever PepsiCo 2003). Customer Analysis There are two major target markets for ready-to-drink ice tea. One group is the consumers on the go. These are the employees, students, and other consumers who lead a busy lifestyle. The hectic American lifestyle demands for optimize productivity with lesser time- consumption. Thus, there is a need for products that are accessible and readily available. Convenience has dominated the market, particularly the food and beverage industry. The other group is made up of health conscious consumers, specifically the baby boomers who patronize anything healthy. The positive reviews as well as the studies on the benefits of tea drinking have stirred an interest in tea drinking. Representing about 10 percent of the world market for tea (Wikipedia 2007), Lipton ice tea is poised to improve its customer base through a joint agreement with PepsiCo and aggressive marketing strategy. Wear and appearance of army uniform is critical in the military today for the shear fact that were are downsizing and the military is looking for every excuse to get rid of someone. Wear and appearance means to me is that you should be in the right uniform at times when instructed or permitted, is should be clean and serviceable and be to military standards.The reason i am writing tho essay y is i simply got lazy towards the exercise in Graf and i decided that packing my gear and others things where more important then my appearance in my military uniform. i decided not to shave and therefore that action i was confronted by another NCO, who then asked me if i had shaven this morningrning, knowing i was in the wrong i decided not to lie that would make the situation words then it really was. From there that NCO let my NCO know the situation and that is why I'm writing this essay today. ith that out the way my choice not to shave was more so and unprofessional decision that i had made when i did not backwards plan which is a good tact to practice because it helps you learn ways to fix and issue before it happens and your left looking stupid. So that morning when i woke i decided to get changed first , then proceeded to latrine to relieve myself, then proceeded to brush my teeth, i glanced at my face and simply thought in my head † Aw no is hanna say shit there to busy thinking about getting home†. hen i walked out of the latrine without a second thought to it. Its always the times when i think aww its cool I'm fine thats when the worst happens or something goes wrong. wear and tear and appearance of army uniform simply consist of you must be shaven at all time s when on duty or conducting a military function you are solider 24-7 you are supposed to have a serviceable uniform at all time when being worn you are to have a hair cut in according to regulation . hough some people do not follow this regulation it does not make it right for me not to. i join ed the military for a reason there are rules and regulations in the military if i want to be apart of this military i have to obey these reals and regulations so b me not following these rules this show that Im not committed to the military life so if I'm not committed why am i hear. Army Regulation 670-1 covers the wear and appearance of military uniforms. Wearing the military uniform is a privilege that not everyone has earned, and it is our responsibility as soldiers to uphold this standard. In this essay I plan to cover different aspects of the regulation and why it is important to meet and maintain the standards which are set forth in the regulation.The purpose of Army Regulation 670-1 as stated in chapter 1 paragraph 1-1 is as follows. â€Å"This regulation prescribes the authorization for wear, composition, and classification of uniforms, and the occasions for wearing all personal, clothing bag issue, optional, and commonly worn organizational Army uniforms. It also prescribes the awards, insignia, and accouterments authorized for wear on the uniform, and how these items are worn. General information is also provided on the authorized material, design, and uniform quality control system.The book answer to the purpose of the regulation only goes so far. If you look further into the regulation it states that the United States Army is a uniformed service that is judged, in part, by the way a soldier wears their uniform. This being said, if a soldier wears their uniform in a manner which is not clean and neat in appearance, and portrays the army poorly, the members of the United States Army would be viewed in a poor and undisciplined manner.Whereas if the members of the United States Army hold themselves to a higher standard, and maintain a neat and clean appearance, the members of the uniformed service will be viewed by the outside world as an organization which personifies what discipline is supposed to be. While we are on the subject of discipline, I think it would be good to explore it and it’s relation to the importance of Army Regulation 670-1. Discipline is one of the cornerstones of the United States Army. Discipline can set you above and beyond everyone else, and it can help you excel in everything you do.As stated in AR 670-1 Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia. The Army is a uniformed service where discipline is judged, in part, by the manner in which a soldier wears a prescribed uniform, as well as by the individual’s personal appearance. Therefore, a neat and well-groomed appearance by all soldiers is fundamental to the Army and contributes to building t he pride and esprit essential to an effective military force. A vital ingredient of the Army’s strength and military effectiveness is the pride and self-discipline that American soldiers bring to their Service through a conservative military image.It is the responsibility of commanders to ensure that military personnel under their command present a neat and soldierly appearance. Therefore, in the absence of specific procedures or guidelines, commanders must determine a soldier’s compliance with standards in this regulation. Soldiers must take pride in their appearance at all times, in or out of uniform, on and off duty. Pride in appearance includes soldiers’ physical fitness and adherence to acceptable weight standards, in accordance with AR 600–9. †    By this, we can see the basic fundamentals and reasons behind the uniform policies that are currently in place.Therefore appearanc is everything in the military, perception is too if i look fucked up then people around me will assume that my NCO is fucked up then they will assume that my be your Chain Of Command is fucked up and shit does roll down hill. Where a student fails the unit solely because of failure to satisfy the hurdle requirement, the final mark for the unit will be 48%. Second marking Where an assessment task is given a fail grade by an examiner, that piece of work will be marked again by a second examiner who will independently evaluate the work, and consult with the first marker. No student will be awarded a fail grade for an assessment task or unit without a second examiner confirming the result. Note: Exceptions to this are individual pieces of assessment contributing 10% or less of the final mark, unless the total of such pieces exceeds 30% of the final mark.
